Acılı Ezme (meze)

Acılı Ezme is hot spicy freshly mashed tomato with onion mix with other herb ingredients. The Hot spiced leveling can be vary according each one's taste and favor.
Although ezme look like sauce, but these dish include in salad variant usually served with other traditional Turkish foods such as kebabs, kofte (Turkish meatball), pide, lahmacun and other favorite foods

Ingredients:
 1 tbsp chilli paste (you can replace with tomato paste to reduce hot spicy flavor)
 2 large size tomatoes, peeled, finely chopped
 1 clove garlic (optional), finely chopped
 1 large yellow or red onion, finely chopped
 4 large of banana peppers (carliston pepper), seeded and finely chopped
 2 large red pepper (you can use bell red pepper), Seeded, finely chopped
 ½ bunch (± 20 stems) parsley or cilantro, finely chopped
 about 3 tbsp pomegranate sour sauce
 3 teaspoon sumac (it's oke you can pass this if you don't have access to get it)
 ½ tablespoons (or more if you like spicy) hot chili powder
 isot peper (Urfa biber)  ½ tbsp or to taste
 3 teaspoon salt, or to taste
 3 tbsp olive oil
 2 tbsp lemon juice

Mix and stir all ingredients. Using hand blender, blend for a while but not too much smooth-- let it rough a bit. 

Or use sharp knife to chop everything.
Or put everything in food processor and give pulse few time. Sprinkle with dried mint as optional served.

Serve cold as salad.

  1. Looks yummy, Citra! Sounds a lot like salsa. I had something similar a few days ago but I added some diced mangoes to it and had it with grilled fish. Someone gave me a packet of sumac awhile back and I didn't know what to do with it. Thanks for the idea.

    Hai Ping.. yes, I saw your manggo salsa few days ago, love it.. but it's hard here for me to find manggo.
