This is the first madeleine I baked. Why? no other reason than I just owned the pan recently after years of searching in the local market here. Madeleine, it's not common here in Turkey so finding madeleine pan is difficult as finding a wallet where I forget to put 😊

I was trying to purchase this pan for few years here, but then I just found it online this year. And I just get this deep madeleine mold with shell shape. Mostly shallow model here is made of silicon which I am not sure it's heatproof or good enough to bake madeleine. I will try to buy that later after I try this deep madeleine pan 1st.

Known as sate in Indonesian (and pronounced similar to the English), Indonesia is the home of satay, and satay is a widely renowned dish in almost all regions of Indonesia and is considered the national dish and one of Indonesia's best dishes. 

Satays, in particular, are a staple in Indonesian cuisine, served everywhere from street carts to fine dining establishments, as well as in homes and at public gatherings. As a result, many variations have been developed throughout the Indonesian Archipelago.

Indonesia has the richest variations of satay in the world. The satay variants in Indonesia usually named after the region it originated, the meats, parts, or ingredients its uses, also might be named after the process or method of cooking.

Just like what I am going to share today, it calls " Sate Padang". Padang is the capital city of West Sumatra province, so obviously where the name of this dish came from.

Jerk refers to a style of cooking in which the main ingredient—which most often is chicken but may also be beef, goat, boar, seafood, or vegetables—is coated in spices and slow-cooked over a fire or grill.

In Indonesian cuisine alone, jerk isn't something new. With a bunch of herb varieties and spices we have, jerking is common for us. 

for example, we have Ayam bakar Taliwang / Indonesian spicy grilled chicken from Lombok.

And today I will share one of my favorite jerk grilled chicken. It's easy and quick to prepare with maximum flavor. This is not Indonesian food but it reminds me of one cause it's spicy and full of flavor.

Iskender kebab or iskender doner is one of the famous kebab dishes of Bursa region where I'm living now. It takes its name from its inventor, İskender Efendi, who lived in Bursa in the late 19th century Ottoman Empire.

The 1st restaurant was in Kayhan Bazaar, Bursa in 1867. And until today become very famous and huge with many chains restaurant inside or outside Bursa.

The dish consists of döner kebab prepared from thinly and carefully cut grilled lamb topped with hot tomato sauce over pieces of pita bread and generously slathered with melted special sheep's milk butter and yogurt. Tomato sauce and melted butter are generally poured over the dish live at the table, for the customer's amusement.

"Kebapçı İskender" is trademarked by the İskenderoğlu family, who still run the restaurant in BursaThis dish is available in many restaurants throughout the country mostly under the name "İskender kebap", "Bursa kebabı", or at times with an alternative one made up by the serving restaurant such as "Uludağ kebabı".

If you are my blog regular reader you may already be familiar with this Simit. It's a famous ring-like bread. It has an extremely crusty and yummy texture outside covered with sesame seeds, and delicious chewy-soft inside.

So famous until it becomes like Turkey's icon or symbolic.

People here love to enjoy them at breakfast or brunch time. You can find Simit sellers mostly in the early morning on streets or any other places in Turkey. And some breakfast cafes provide them while they are hot and fresh from the oven in the morning only. With hot tea accompany it make this "bagel" very popular as a breakfast/ brunch menu in Turkey.

Serve it with cheese spread, white cheese, or any kind of cheese you love, olive and cherry tomatoes, or cucumber as a salad. Or simply dip into olive oil herb with thyme....Hmmm...yummy👍

Hello.... summer is really at its peak this end of June. And guess what, all my favorite fruits are everywhere 😍. And our table full of fresh fruits every day. start from watermelon, melons, until strawberry 🍓. Aaaannndddd... talking about strawberry, I will share something today about it.

And to festive this summer, I made this Strawberry Chiffon Cake. You may remember my previous Strawberry chiffon cake I posted before. This recipe is slightly different from that first time. Personally, I prefer my 1st recipe to this one, but again, it up to your personal palate. You may try both recipes then compare which one better 👀.
