Bread is a staple in our house, besides rice of course ๐ cause I still eat rice at least once a day.
But my husband prefers eating bread morning for breakfast till dinner.
For breakfast (or brunch at weekend) we love something cheesy and savory just like this cheesy garlic bread.

This Hasselback-like bread inspired by my previous Korean garlic bread but I adjusted it to be suited to our taste.
My previous "viral Korean garlic bread" tends too sweet for us, and my kid didn't enjoy the strong garlic flavor in it (even I already reduce the amount of garlic from the original recipe). My Turkish husband doesn't really like the 'too sweet' flavor in his bread - especially for his breakfast/ brunch.
But of course, this is our personal opinion and taste bud. You may love original sweet-garlicky bread like my previous Korean garlic bread, just go ahead.. explore my Korean garlic cream cheese bread recipe here.

And today's recipe is our family-style Hasselback bread with cream cheese filling.
Even I still add some sugar to my cream cheese mixture but the result wasn't too sweet (which we loved it!).
For the bread, I am using my previous basic eggless soft bread here, or here but please go ahead with your own favorite bread recipe.
Hasselback Cream Cheese Bread

Basic soft bread:
๐ 350 g bread flour
๐ 15 g ( 1 Tbsp) powdered milk (optional)
๐ 20 g sugar
๐ 4 gr ( 1 tsp) instant dry yeast
๐ 240 g fresh milk
๐ 40 g butter/ margarine
๐ 1 tsp salt

Cream Cheese Filling
๐ 400 g cream cheese
๐ 60 g (4 Tbsp)sugar
๐ ½ tablespoon lemon juice
Garlic sauce
๐ 1 small egg,
๐ 120 g melted butter,
๐ 1 Tbsp minced garlic
๐ 30 g milk
๐ 1 Tbsp dried parsley
๐ Pinch of salt
How to make:
1. After you have soft buns ready, score them without cutting through the buns, set them aside. Preheat oven at 170℃. Line 2 baking tray with parchment paper, set aside.
2. Mix all ingredients for cream cheese filling. Using a whisk to incorporate well, move into a piping bag with a 2 cm plain tip. Keep in the refrigerator while making the butter garlic sauce.
For the garlic sauce, mix all ingredients and whisk well until combine.
3. Take one bun, pipe the cream cheese filling between each split (see my video to how). Do to all buns. Then dip into butter garlic sauce, spoon the sauce all over the bun. Arrange over a prepared baking tray.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes. Let them cool over the cooling rack.

Kali ini saya ingin sharing salah satu roti yang terinspirasi dari Korean garlic bread yang sebelumnya sudah pernah saya posting.
Setelah mencoba dua tiga kali Korean bread, ternyata seisi rumah tidak terlalu suka. Aroma bawang putih yang tajam dan gurih berpadu dengan cream cheese yang manis sangatlah sulit disukai oleh suami dan anak saya. Bagi saya pribadi juga memang kurang suka- itu pendapat pribadi saya ya... tiap orang mempunyai selera masing-masing.
Bagi suami saya yang notabene makanan pokoknya roti (bukan roti empuk dan manis ya), roti seharusnya tidak terlalu manis- seperti garlic bread versi Korea itu. Ya udah... kita suka dengan isian cream cheese itu tapi kali ini saya bikin versi gurih saja.
Resep roti dasarnya bisa pakai resep andalan masing-masing ya.. atau boleh dengan resep dasar roti saya (resep dibawah ini).
Hasselback Cream Cheese Bread

Basic soft bread:
๐ 350 g terigu high protein untuk roti
๐ 15 g ( 1 sdm) susu bubuk
๐ 20 g gula
๐ 4 gr ( 1 sdt) ragi instant
๐ 240 g susu cair
๐ 40 g mentega/ margarin
๐ 1sdt garam

Untuk proses lengkap membuat adonan dasar roti bisa dilihat di link ini
Cream Cheese Filling
๐ง 400 g cream cheese
๐ง 60 g (4 Tbsp)gula kastฤฑr
๐ง ½ sdm perasan jeruk lemon
Saus bawang putih
๐ง 1 telur ukuran kecil
๐ง 120 g mentega, lelehkan,
๐ง 1 sdm parutan bawang putih
๐ง 30 g susu cair
๐ง 1 sdm parsley kering
๐ง sedikit garam
Cara membuat:
1. Setelah membuat roti dasarnya baru kita bisa melangkah ke proses selanjutnya.
Kerat-kerat roti (jangan sampai putus), sisihkan. Panaskan oven suhu 170℃. Alasi loyang dengan baking paper.
2.Campur dan aduk rata bahan untuk cream cheese dengan menggunakan wire whisk. Pindahkan ke dalam piping bag (kantong segitiga) dengan ujung noozle/ pipa plain. Simpan dalam lemari es.
3. Campur semua bahan untuk saus bawang putihnya, aduk dengan wire whisk hingga rata.
Ambil roti yang sudah dikerat lalu semprotkan krim cheese di tiap keratnya. Lalu celupkan dalam saus bawang. Lakukan hingga selesai.
4. Atur diatas loyang yang sudah disiapkan lalu panggan kira-kira 10-15 minutes. Dinginkan diatas rak pendingin.
