You may remember my earlier post about homemade sweet chili sauce.  I love that sauce. I can use it as a dipping sauce, brush it for my grilled corn or even marinate and cook.

Just like what I am going to share today. It's our favorite chicken in sweet chili sauce. I serve it with pasta and simple salad as a side dish.

It's actually my copycat version from one of the franchise restaurants here in Turkey. We love to go to that restaurant every weekend. The restaurant special serve fettuccine with any kinds of protein starting from salmon, beef, chicken, or turkey, serve with mix salad.

One of their menu which I love to order is "sweet chili soslu tavuk" or chicken in sweet chili sauce (picture below).

Bulan November begini hawa sudah makin dingin ya... Ditambah berangin dan hujan, jadi makin menggigit. Musim dingin memang mulai menjelang. Yang di Indonesia juga sedang musim hujan ya.

Di musim pandemi macam sekarang, stamina juga harus dobel. Jaga kesehatan sebab selain pandemi covid-19 yang belum berakhir juga akhir 2021 ini, musim seperti ini tubuh kita rentan terserang penyakit musiman seperti batuk dan influenza.

Banyak konsumsi makanan bergizi, vitamin tambahan dan jangan stres-ini yang penting.Selalu berdo'a kepada Allah wazalla memohon kesehatan dan perlindungan dari segala penyakit.

Oh iya, saya ingin bagikan satu kebiasaan saya selama setahun ini, yaitu minum air lemon hangat 1 gelas di pagi hari sebelum minum/ makan apapun. Sebelumnya saya tidak mempunyai keluhan kesehatan apa-apa sih (الحمد لله)-- tapi saya selalu konsumsi air lemon hangat ini tiap bangun tidur. Menurut beberapa sumber meminum air lemon hangat mempunyai beberapa manfaat kesehatan bagi tubuh kita, diantaranya;
  • Menurunkan berat badan
  • Mencegah sembelit
  • Mencegah batu ginjal
  • meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh

Tapi jika kamu mempunyai keluhan tubuh yang ragu untuk meminum air lemon ini, memang harus dikonsultasikan ke dokter dulu ya.

Dumpling is one of ancient food from east to west cuisine world. And it's lovable food to enjoy young to older generations.
Dumpling is my favorite choice when we talk about what food to accompany us for afternoon tea. Not only for snacking between lunch to dinner, but dumpling also satisfying meal for my brunch.

Soto is a very common Indonesian food. It is a traditional soup in a thin but well-seasoned broth. In Indonesia soto also one of many street foods around. Even it also cooked at home but the taste and flavor of the street food version still make people keep looking for it.

Soto can be prepared with chicken or beef and some mix with offal, along with vegetables.
In Indonesia, you can find many kinds of "Soto" represents their local heritages and they vary from one another. 
Jakarta, which is the home for Betawi people, has their own “Soto Betawi” with its sweet, creamy, coconut-milk base. Some regions also have Soto Ceker, a chicken foot soto which is usually offered as a variation of the usual Soto Ayam. 

Using a cow’s or goat’s tripe in soto also very popular in many regions. Like Soto Madura (from Madura island) also use tripe (or offal). Soto Betawi (from Jakarta) also use offal served in yellow spicy coconut milk soup with vermicelli, potato, and vegetables.

Soto Tangkar, a Soto made of chopped goat or beef ribs and beef brisket cooked in coconut milk soup with various Indonesian herbs and spices.

The diversity in Indonesia has led to a rich culinary heritage. From the famous Satay to Indonesian salad gado-gado, every Indonesian food is really worth to try. Just like this "Ayam Taliwang"

Ayam Taliwang is made with chicken (preferably free-range), which is grilled previously. Once it has been grilled halfway, then it marinates and tenderizes with a spice paste. Then it grilled until cook trough.

Although Ayam Taliwang is said to be a dish favored by Sasak nobility, Abdul Hamid claims to have invented the dish in 1970. It is named after Karang Taliwang in Mataram, the capital of Lombok.

Ayam Taliwang is a grilled chicken with spicy savory with distinguished taste from one key ingredient; Kencur root or sand ginger.
Known as Kaempferia galanga, kencur is a plant in the ginger family that is found primarily in open areas in Indonesia, southern China, Taiwan, and Cambodia. At a glance, the rhizome (root) of Kencur resembles ginger appearance but has a different, distinctive flavor. It has a strong taste with a pungent after taste.
This herb root commonly used in many Indonesian foods, especially Balinese and Javanese foods.
You can find in Asian market or Indonesian market at your local.

Biryani is a mixed rice dish, its origins among the Muslims of India. It can be compared to mixing a curry, later combining it with semi-cooked rice separately.

The word 'biryani' is derived from a Persian word, birian, which means 'fried before cooking'. It is a popular dish that has acquired a niche for itself in South Asian cuisine. The dish has spread across a wide swath of South Asia, reaching as far west as Iraq and as far east as Indonesia.

Ingredients vary according to the region and the type of meat and vegetables used. Meat (of either chicken, goat, beef, lamb, prawn, or fish) is the prime ingredient with rice. As is common in dishes of the Indian subcontinent, vegetables are sometimes also used when preparing biryani. Corn may be used depending on the season and availability. 

The spices and condiments used in biryani may include ghee (clarified butter), nutmeg, mace, pepper, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves, coriander, mint leaves, ginger, onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and garlic. The premium varieties include saffron. 
In all biryanis, the main ingredient that accompanies the spices is the chicken or goat meat; special varieties might use beef or seafood instead. The dish may be served with dahi (curd) chutney or raita, korma, curry, a sour dish of aubergine, boiled egg, and salad.

What is I am going to share today is one franchise chicken restaurants' popular menu.  This restaurant is famous here in Turkey and has many branches in many cities across Turkey called "Tavuk Dunyası" or in English, you can say Chicken world. 
This restaurant is relatively new, according to some sources, this franchise restaurant was established in 2011, and up to 2020, they already have more than 200 branches across Turkey.

Their menus generally consist of pasta as a carbohydrate--some menus serve fries instead of pasta, chicken-in many variants, and a simple salad. And of course, bread is also served on those menus.

General Tso's chicken is a sweet deep-fried chicken dish that is served in North American Chinese restaurants. The dish is named after Zuo Zongtang (also romanized Tso Tsung-t'ang), a Qing dynasty statesman and military leader, although there is no recorded connection to him nor is the dish known in Hunan, Zuo's home province.

A dish made of deep-fried batter-coated pieces of chicken that are cooked in a sweet, tangy, and sometimes spicy sauce. Some vegetables commonly served.

Even this dish is so popular in US, you might be surprised to learn that General Tso’s chicken is actually not very big in China — and it doesn’t even originate from mainland China. In fact, it hasn’t even been around for long: Its creation is widely credited to Peng Chang-kuei (who recently died) in 1952.

Tapiiii hari ini pengen posting sesuatu yang lain. Ceritanya tiba-tiba pengen sesuatu yang "Japanese" tapi yang sesuai lidah saya dan bahannya gak susah juga di Turki. Maunya bikin ramen tapi susah nemu bahan-bahannya disini dan masih bingung dan perlu cari info pengganti beberapa bahan non-halal. Cari versi yang halal gitu.....
Yuukkk sharing ke saya yang bisa bikin ramen versi halal tapi rasanya yang mirip dengan versi otentiknya... Saya bakal berterima kasih bangeettt. ❤

Katsu, atau “daging (yang) diiris” dalam bahasa Jepang, adalah daging yang dipukul ringan tipis sebelum dimasak. Chicken katsu adalah hidangan populer dari ayam goreng yang dibumbui, kemudian dibalur tepung, telur, dan terakhir dibalut remah tepung roti/ panko. Ada juga yang menyebutnya ayam panko atau tori katsu.

Katsuretsu/ katsu (cutlet) was invented in Japan in 1899 at a Tokyo restaurant called Rengatei. Originally considered a type of yōshoku (a Japanese version of European cuisine) the dish was called katsuretsu or simply katsu. The term “tonkatsu” (pork katsu) was adopted in the 1930s.

Katsu has been around in Japan since the late 1800s (the Meiji era) when Western-influenced foods were beginning to be incorporated in Japan as yōshoku 洋食 to feed explorers and foreign military personnel. Julienned raw cabbage was pioneered by Ginza’s Rengatei. They were the first to replace misc. cooked vegetables with cabbage.

Curiously, this sauce is called by the gourmets simply Satay Sauce, without knowing, that this is, in fact, a variant of peanut sauce.

I think now everyone is familiar with sate/ satay. One of Indonesia's most popular traditional foods and become everyone's favorite. And it's one of Indonesian national dishes among others eg; Rendang, nasi goreng, gado gado and more.


I am personally the number one fan of satay . In Indonesia itself there are many types of satay from various regions and of various ingredients.
For example, from Padang city (Sumatra), I like satay Padang. It made of beef/ ox tongue mix with beef meet, flush with thick yellow, curry-like sauce. Sumatranese typical food.
There is also "sate kelapa" (beef / chiken satay coated with grated coconut-My best favorite) -its mostly from Madura Island. Served with peanut sauce or simple dark sweet soy sauce.

And today I will show and share my recipe on how to make authentic famous Indonesian satay with satay peanut sauce, all from scratch. No worry... it's easy than you think 😊
First thing first. We must make satay peanut sauce in ahead. You can keep this sauce in an airtight clean jar, store in the refrigerator up to 5 days. in the freezer for up to 2 weeks, defrost before use. Warm up in a microwave or over low heat stove for 2 minutes or so.
