Few days ago I made my own pomegranate jam and it goes along lovely with some of my desserts, like Cheddar Cheese Cake with fruits Topping, Brownie Tangerine Cheesecake, Cheddar cheese cupcake. And I bet it will be suit with your other dessert too. In fact I'm planning to make some more dessert using this beautiful and healthy and delicious Pom jam :D
Things you need for homemade Pom Jam:
- 3~4 big Pomegranate. Seeded. (I cracked halved the pomegranate and gently hit the skin with small rolling pin)
- 2 1/2 cup sugar (or according to your taste). I mix some with artificial sugar (diabetes sugar).
- 1/2 tsp citric acid (optional)
- 3/4 water
- Red food color (optional)
How to make it:
In stainless steel heavy bottom pan, mix sugar and water over medium heat until sugar completely dissolve. Mix in Pomegranate seeds and citric acid. Mix in few drops food color (If you use one). Cooks it for few minutes until bubbling. Remove from heat and chill it.
Store in clean jar and close tightly.
Your Pomegranate jam is ready to use.
