PEANUT BUTTER CHIFFON CAKE | Çitra's Home Diary

Chiffon cake is a very light cake made with vegetable oil, eggs, sugar, flour, baking powder, and flavorings.

Its distinctive feature is from the use of vegetable oil, instead of the traditional fat which is solid at room temperatures, such as butter or shortening. This makes it difficult to directly beat air into the batter. 
As a result, chiffon cakes (as well as angel food cakes and other foam cakes) achieve a fluffy texture by having egg whites beaten separately until stiff and then folded into the cake batter before baking. Its aeration properties rely on both the quality of the meringue and the chemical leaveners.

A chiffon cake combines methods used with sponge cakes and conventional cakes. It includes baking powder and vegetable oil, but the eggs are separated and the whites are beaten before being folded into the batter, creating the rich flavor like an oil cake, but with a lighter texture that is more like a sponge cake.

They can be baked in tube pans or layered with fillings and frostings.

Biryani adalah hidangan nasi berbumbu yang berasal dari kalangan Muslim India. Bumbu yang dipakai adalah bumbu kari lalu dicampur dengan beras yang dimasak setegah matang lalu dimasak hingga matang dan beraroma kariyang khas. 
Hidangan ini sangat populer, tidak hanya di India, selain di kalangan diasporanya, makanan ini juga dimasak dan dihidangkan di wilayah lain seperti Irak dan sekitarnya.

Dibuat dengan rempah-rempah khas India, nasi, dan daging (ayam, sapi, domba, udang, atau ikan), dan kadang-kadang, sebagai tambahan, telur dan kentang juga ditambahkan terutama di daerah tertentu.

The diversity in Indonesia has led to a rich culinary heritage. From the famous Satay to Indonesian salad gado-gado, every Indonesian food is really worth to try. Just like this "Ayam Taliwang"

Ayam Taliwang is made with chicken (preferably free-range), which is grilled previously. Once it has been grilled halfway, then it marinates and tenderizes with a spice paste. Then it grilled until cook trough.

Although Ayam Taliwang is said to be a dish favored by Sasak nobility, Abdul Hamid claims to have invented the dish in 1970. It is named after Karang Taliwang in Mataram, the capital of Lombok.

Ayam Taliwang is a grilled chicken with spicy savory with distinguished taste from one key ingredient; Kencur root or sand ginger.
Known as Kaempferia galanga, kencur is a plant in the ginger family that is found primarily in open areas in Indonesia, southern China, Taiwan, and Cambodia. At a glance, the rhizome (root) of Kencur resembles ginger appearance but has a different, distinctive flavor. It has a strong taste with a pungent after taste.
This herb root commonly used in many Indonesian foods, especially Balinese and Javanese foods.
You can find in Asian market or Indonesian market at your local.

The cultural diversity in Indonesia makes Indonesian cuisine has the most unique and rich in the world. 
Meals are generally simple, the plentiful use of various roots, spices, grasses, and leaves adds zest to most dishes. The common use of the chili pepper may mislead some to believe that all Indonesian dishes are spicy and hot. But actually not really true. Most of our meals have relatively mild spices and tastes. 
In addition, most Indonesian food is prepared with contrasting flavors, such as a spicy-sweet or hot sauce served over a bed of plain white rice, a popular meal throughout the country.

And today I will share one of vegetarian food that fresh yet flavorful; Plecing kangkung

Plecing kangkung is an Indonesian spicy water spinach dish from Lombok island. Plecing kangkung made from blanched kangkung leaf (water spinach) served cold with fresh plecing sambal relish made from ground red chili pepper, shallots, and bird's eye chili.

As a side dish for Lombok Ayam taliwang dish, plecing kangkung usually also served with additional vegetables such as bean sprouts, string beans, fried peanuts and urap's grated spicy coconut dressing. Outside Lombok island, plecing kangkung is also commonly served in neighboring island Bali.

Tas Kebab is a Turkish style meat stew. The meat used can vary like beef, lamb, or veal. One of traditional home meal that serves at local restaurants here.
It is one of the meat dishes sitting in the corner of the Ottoman kitchen. It got its name from the way it is cooked. Traditionally it cooks in a copper pan.

This dish can be served with Turkish bread or with Turkish pilav (rice).

In addition, traditionally, while tas kebab was served, yogurt with garlic was also served.

I am not really in the mood of baking lately. Since the online class for my daughter starts a few weeks ago, I also get involved in it cause you know, 9 years old kid can not really understand how to set up a camera or microphone or if a problem suddenly comes up with the zoom or computer, I should always ready beside her. Since morning to half day.

Biryani is a mixed rice dish, its origins among the Muslims of India. It can be compared to mixing a curry, later combining it with semi-cooked rice separately. 
This dish is especially popular throughout the Indian subcontinent, as well as among its diaspora. It is made with Indian spices, rice, and meat (chicken, beef, lamb, prawn, or fish), and sometimes, in addition, eggs and/or potatoes in certain regional varieties. 

The word 'biryani' is derived from a Persian word, birian, which means 'fried before cooking'. It is a popular dish that has acquired a niche for itself in South Asian cuisine. The dish has spread across a wide swath of South Asia, reaching as far west as Iraq and as far east as Indonesia.

Ingredients vary according to the region and the type of meat and vegetables used. Meat (of either chicken, goat, beef, lamb, prawn, or fish) is the prime ingredient with rice. As is common in dishes of the Indian subcontinent, vegetables are sometimes also used when preparing biryani. Corn may be used depending on the season and availability. 

The spices and condiments used in biryani may include ghee (clarified butter), nutmeg, mace, pepper, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves, coriander, mint leaves, ginger, onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and garlic. The premium varieties include saffron. 
In all biryanis, the main ingredient that accompanies the spices is the chicken or goat meat; special varieties might use beef or seafood instead. The dish may be served with dahi (curd) chutney or raita, korma, curry, a sour dish of aubergine, boiled egg, and salad.
