Balinese satay Lilit With "sambal matah" (raw lemongrass chili relish)

Resep dalam Bhs INdonesia klik disini

Hello everyone.....
Merhaba from Türkiye 👋

I am pretty sure that you’ve heard of Indonesia or maybe some of you think that Bali is somewhere near Indonesia and thought that it is a country of its own. Maybe it was all because the diversity of Indonesian culture that made us (or some of us) think that way.
Well, for you who didn't know yet, Bali is one of Indonesian islands among more than 17.000 others.

There are so many ways to explore Indonesia and if you have little time to actually travel to the beautiful Indonesia, you can do it by tasting our FOOD! 😊

Indonesian cuisine often demonstrates complex flavor, acquired from certain ingredients and bumbu spices mixture. Indonesian dishes have rich flavors; most often described as gurih (savory which equate to umami) and pedas (hot and spicy), and also a combination of basic tastes such as manis (sweet), asin (salty), asam (sour) and pahit (bitter).

Seven main Indonesian cooking methods are goreng (frying), bakar (roasting) or panggang (grilling), tumis (sautéing), sangrai (roasted), rebus (boiling) and kukus (steaming).
Talking about how rich İndonesian food is... today İ'll share you one of İndonesian favorite; Sate Lilit Bali. It's one of famous food from Bali island, beside Balinese grilled fish ( ikan bakar) or urap sayur and ayam pelalah (spicy shredded chicken).

The various spices used to make this meal so rich and umami. The herbs and fresh vegetables added also enrich and distinguish this dish from other places in Indonesia.

Köfte (or kofta) is a family of meatball or meatloaf dishes found in the Indian subcontinent, South Caucasian, Middle Eastern, Balkan, and Central Asian cuisines. In the simplest form, koftas consist of balls of minced or ground meat—usually beef, chicken or lamb—mixed with spices and/or onions.

In Turkey, köfte is one of traditional staple. There are hundreds of different varieties and vary greatly in size and shape.
Some are long and thin- we call it parmak köfte, typical to İnegöl Köfte.
Others are balls, and others are patty shaped typical to kasap köfte or Pideli köfte.

You can check my previous köfte recipe like İzmir köftesi origin from İzmir city (see recipe here) .
Or when you visit Bursa you should try Pideli Köfte, it's a small flat patty shape meatball served over pide flat bread flush with yummy tomato sauce then "fizz" with hot melted butter. You can check how to make it home here
There is another köfte from İnegöl town named İnegöl Köfte. Each köfte (meatball) has own typical.

Köfte variant also can be determined  base on meat used. It can be made from beef, lamb, or a combination of the two. Sometimes chicken or turkey (in Turkish language we call it "hindi tavuk" 😊)

Merhaba from Türkiye everyone 👋

Pasta in Turkey, we call it "makarna" is like second staple beside bread. Together with bulgur wheat , couscous and rice, pasta also favorite food especially in big cities.
The most favorite pasta type is spaghetti.

Most pasta consumption in Turkey is in Marmara Region, Aegean second, took third place is Central Anatolia. This was followed by the Mediterranean, Black Sea, Southeast and Eastern Anatolia Regions. It was seen that pasta consumption was lower in the regions where local dishes and traditional tastes were in the foreground.

And the most popular sauce to cook with spaghetti is simple tomato sauce.

AUTHENTIC INDONESIAN FOOD RECIPE; MANADONESE CHICKEN WOKU / AYAM WOKU BELANGA

Resep dalam Bhs İndonesia bisa diklik disini

Selam everybody.... Merhaba from Türkey.

Indonesian cuisine varies greatly by region and has many different influences. Sumatra cuisine, for example, often has Middle Eastern and Indian influences, featuring curried meat and vegetables such as gulai and kari, while Javanese cuisine is mostly indigenous, with some hint of Chinese influence. The cuisines of Eastern Indonesia are similar to Polynesian and Melanesian cuisine. Elements of Chinese cuisine can be seen in Indonesian cuisine: foods such as bakmi (noodles)bakso (meat or fish balls), and lumpia (spring rolls) have been completely assimilated.

Throughout its history, Indonesia has been involved in trade due to its location and natural resources. Additionally, Indonesia’s indigenous techniques and ingredients were influenced by India, the Middle East, China, and finally Europe. Spanish and Portuguese traders brought New World produce even before the Dutch came.

The Indonesian islands Moluccas (Maluku), which are famed as "the Spice Islands", also contributed to the introduction of native spices, such as cloves and nutmeg, to Indonesian and global cuisine.

Indonesian cuisine often demonstrates complex flavor, acquired from certain ingredients and bumbu spices mixture. Indonesian dishes have rich flavors; most often described as gurih (savory which equate to umami) and pedas (hot and spicy), and also combination of basic tastes such as manis (sweet), asin (salty), asam (sour) and pahit (bitter).

PİRİ PİRİ CHİCKEN RECİPE. #piripirchicken #roastedchicken #maindish #grilledchicken #chickenandpoultryrecipe

Selam everybody.... Merhaba from Türkiye.

As İ mentioned on my previous post, chicken and poultry are most repeatable menu on our dinner table. İt's cheap and my kid's fave protein source.
And my İndonesian grilled chicken is my fave! Please check my post here and here for the recipes.

And today İ will share another delicious grilled chicken with Piri piri marinate sauce İ made before. The spicy savory sour of the piri piri sauce adding the fiery on your chicken (or poultry). You gonna love it.

Making this piri piri chicken is pretty simple, also faster if you have ready to use piri piri sauce you make in ahead before. Check this link for making piri piri sauce in advance.

Every 1 kg chicken (other poultry) you will need about ½ cup of piri piri sauce plus for basting during grilling. Or one whole chicken (about 2 kg) you will need about 1½ cup plus basting during grilling.
Marinate the chicken with the sauce and keep in fridge at least 3 hours before grilled / roasting.
You may prepare the marinating a night before to be grilled in the next day.

And as an archipelago country with the longest coastline on earth İndonesia has countless type of fish and seafood as protein source beside poultry and meat.

And my today post is one of everybody's favorite and any kids will love it, call "kaki naga". "Kaki naga" literally means dragon feet 😊 . Don't ask me why we call this food dragon feet.. İ don't think it's looking like dragon feet either 😃.

Anyway, this "kaki naga" mostly using minced fish as main ingredient, sometime combine with chicken or shrimp as well. But today İ am going to share shrimp version of "kaki naga" / dragon feet. İ combine with chicken meat to ease the sharpness of shrimp taste and also to add the texture of final product because when İ use whole shrimp, sometimes it ends up with more runny batter.

So.. if you are ready to try new cuisine for your family.. note this recipe down. Believe me your kids would love it too! 😏
And more...it's freezer friendly and can be another idea for your kid's or your family lunch box!

AYAM BAKAR MADU YANG LEZAT / Indonesian Spicy Honey Grilled Chicken

Resep dalam bahasa İndonesia ada di bagian bawah.

Selam everybody......Merhaba from Turkey.

İ think grilled chicken has the widest varieties of spice. You can do and add any flavor you like start from spicy, sweet, sour, salty, or simply garlicky.

İn İndonesia grilled chicken calls ayam bakar, also has very much variety base on bumbu/ spices uses, or base on originated.

We have ayam bakar sunda, which comes from Sunda (west Java). Or ayam bakar Padang, from Padang-west Sumatra. Or Ayam bakar Taliwang, from Lombok island and each province/ region has own typical grilled chicken (ayam bakar).

Also base on spices used, we have ayam bakar bumbu bali, ayam bakar bumbu rujak (spicy grilled chicken), ayam bakar kecap (sweet soy sauce grilled chicken-see the recipe here), ayam bakar cabe hijau (green chili grilled chicken)... and more.

Turkish Spice Roasted Chicken Wings/ Fırında Kızarmış Tavuk Kanat

Selam everybody......Merhaba from Turkey.

Question of the day; what chicken part is your favorite?

Telling you honestly..... I love chicken feet. İ know..İ know.. some of you maybe will stick your tongue out 😝 😝 . İt sound gross for some of you. Cause maybe you never eat that or even think to eat it. But believe me it's good! Mostly İndonesian and some Asian countries eat chicken feet.
Chicken feet rich of glucosamine chondroitin, collagen and trace minerals. Moreover, a chicken feet stock is an excellent source of calcium

Sadly İ can not find any chicken feet in Turkey from any butcher here so İ won't talk more about it and İ should wait until İ get home to İndonesia soon 😊

Second list of my fave chicken part of course wings! Who doesn't love wings.
The yummiest chicken part and every body's favorite snack however people cook it or whatever glazing sauce with it.

My daughter is very much picky on food and doesn't eat too much, but whenever there is chicken wings she could eat them more as İ thought. So almost once in few days İ cook chicken wing just for her.
Sometimes İ made her crunchy chicken wing and she loves to dip it in cheese sauce. Or simple Honey garlic chicken wings. But most of her fave is this Fırında Kızarmış Tavuk kanat literally mean oven roasted chicken wings.

This chicken wing is actually my copycat taste from rotisserie chicken wing seller here in city where İ live (or maybe other cities in Turkey). And make them at home is satisfy me not just in fresh taste but also much saving in budget.
By making it at home we can control the freshness of chicken wings we use, of course.

Resep Ayam Bakar Kecap / authentic Indonesian sweet soy sauce grilled Chicken

Resep dalam bhs İndonesia ada dibagian bawah

Merhaba From Türkiye 👋

First, I'd like to thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you can come back, again and again, to check up on anything beyond Indonesian or Turkish food or something sweets you might love. Your comments and emails brighten my days and make this simple blog thing worthwhile 😍💛

And make sure you subscribe to my Youtube channel and turn on the bell sign to get more video recipes.

Indonesian cuisine is one of the most vibrant and colorful cuisines in the world, full of intense flavor. It is diverse, in part because Indonesia is composed of approximately 6,000 populated islands of the total 18,000 in the world's largest archipelago, with more than 300 ethnic groups calling Indonesia their home. Many regional cuisines exist, often based upon indigenous culture and foreign influences. Indonesia has around 5,350 traditional recipes, with 30 of them considered the most important.

My today post is one of the famous İndonesian cuisine called Ayam bakar kecap. Ayam bakar literally means grilled chicken, kecap is sweet soy sauce. This sweet soy sauce (kecap manis) is one of the staple condiments in İndonesian cuisine especially in javanese cuisine. Traditionally the chicken grilled over charcoal and brushed with spiced kecap manis during the grilling process which gives more intense flavour.

In Java, ayam bakar usually tastes rather sweet because of the generous amount of sweet soy sauce either as marination or dipping sauce, while ayam bakar Padang, Bali, Lombok and most of Sumatra are usually spicier and more reddish in colour due to the generous amount of chilli pepper, turmeric and other spices, and the absence of sweet soy sauce.

Ayam bakar is usually served with sambal terasi (chilli sambal with terasi) or sambal kecap (sliced chilli and shallot in sweet soy sauce) as dipping sauce or condiment and slices of cucumber and tomato as a garnish as well as a side dish.
Check the lower part for making sambal terasi.

Sesame Chicken Rice Bowl Recipe

Selam everybody..Merhaba from Turkey.

Asian style dish is always my prefer. Just like this restaurant style dish-Sesame chicken.
Today I am going to share sesame chicken rice bowl. The dish seems look alike general tso's chicken, but it is different actually in taste where this sesame chicken has more on sweet and light sour rather than spicy.

For the vegetable side dish I made simple shredded carrot and napa cabbage dressing with my simple version of thousand island dressing. It's just perfect for the sesame chicken.

This take away style dish amazingly easy and relatively quick to make So if you are asian food's fan as well I am sure you are going to love this. (^,^)

AYAM MASAK KECAP / Indonesian style Chicken cooked in kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)

Recipe in English please scroll down

Beda kalau pas Ibuk masak sayur, salah satu adik saya pasti dikit makannya.

Namanya masakan rumahan, sesuai selera masing-masing saja ya.

If you ask me what one specific food which has many variation... my answer would be curry! Yep... you can find more than 500 kind variation of curry base on ingredients used until where it come from.
As Indonesian of course I like Asian curry- Indonesian, Malaysian, Vietnamese and Thailand curry are my fave!

The definition of curry it self; is name of various braised dishes cooked with some spices to have sharp ad spicy taste. It believed came from South Asia mainly from India which have been spread to all countries in Asia Pacific and Europe

Curry popularity has spread from the Indian subcontinent into the treasury of world cuisine. Every country has different types of curries a distinctive tailored to the tastes of people in the country. Kari has become the world's food, and adopted into Thai cuisine, English cuisine and other country's cuisine

And what I am about to share today is Turkish style curry or in local language they call it Körili TavukKörili literally means with curry (spice) and Tavuk means chicken. Even the popularity is less compare local cuisine, still Körili Tavuk has become cuisine alternative among them.

Usually local people here use double or single pour cream to mix in to their curry, but I use canned coconut milk as I cook my Indonesian curry.
